Q: How do I contact the RRCA Board or Social Committee?
A: Our mailing address is P.O. Box 1047, Anacortes, WA 98221.
We can also be reached via email at [email protected] (A RRCA Board member monitors that email account and will forward your query/comment to the appropriate party.)
Q: How do I contact the Architectural Control Committee (ACC)?
A: By mail at the above PO Box or by email at [email protected] (The ACC is a particularly vital committee when it comes to exterior modifications to your home and property so please consult your CC&Rs and contact the ACC at your first convenience prior to purchasing a lot for new construction or making external modifications to an existing home.)
Q: Does the RRCA have a dedicated website?
A: You've found it! If you're a resident, please register on the site for access to forums (where you can meet/exchange information with other residents) and advance insider info (like when our next neighborhood party is!).
Q: What additional information might the RRCA need from me?
A: It is vital that we have your property & mailing address, preferred phone numbers, and preferred email addresses. This info can be provided when you register at the RRCA website or you can send it to us via email/mail (at the above addresses). Please ensure we have this info ASAP, especially for community safety reasons, but also for a myriad of other needs. Please also let us know if you are a property owner and are renting your RR property to others, and the names of your tenants (We certainly want to include renters in social events and to keep them informed about any safety issues).
Q: Are there any other websites that are germane to the RR area?
A: Yes, ‘Nextdoor’ is a social networking service for neighborhoods. They have a dedicated feed for Rock Ridge. To register, see: https://nextdoor.com/ Also, you might want to check out the Facebook group ‘You know you’re from Anacortes when…' see: https://www.facebook.com/groups/7237625918/
(Note that these sites do not provide official RRCA information).
Q: How can I assist the RRCA?
A: We are in regular need of volunteers to assist with a variety of duties that makes the association work. These include service on the RRCA Board of Directors, where we have regular vacancies both for the officer’s positions (Pres, VP, Sec & Tres), and members-at-large. These positions are intended to turn-over at two-year intervals. Additionally, service on the ACC and Social Committee involves positions that revolve every other year, as well. Finally, we are in the midst of orchestrating a community disaster preparedness effort and need volunteers to assist us with that effort. Whatever your talents, we can certainly find a position that won’t consume your life, but will allow you to contribute to the community. Interested? Contact us via email.
Q: How often does the RRCA Board meet?
A: The Board meets quarterly at a Board member’s home. Meetings are generally scheduled for the second Tuesday of the second month of each quarter (i.e., in February, May, August, and November). However, these dates frequently change based on members' schedules. RR owners are welcome to attend the quarterly meetings if they have an agenda item/issue that they want to address. Your attendance and issue should be coordinated via email in advance of the meeting (meeting time, date, and venue will be posted at our website). Meanwhile, you’ll definitely want to attend our Annual Meeting for all residents/owners which is held in late January/early February of each year. Here we set the priorities and initiatives for the following year and present/approve the community operating budget. Again, that word will be put out via email in December.
Q: Speaking of budget, what are our homeowner’s association dues and how/when do I pay them?
A: RRCA dues are $200 annually. You will receive an invoice in December for the following year’s dues. It’s very important that you indicate to the RRCA Treasurer (via email) if you’d prefer your invoice sent via U.S. mail or email. Dues are then payable in January via check sent to the RRCA postal address.
Q: Where can I find a copy of the association's by-laws or the CC&Rs for my street?
A: On our homepage under the "Association Documents" tab. You can also find minutes from any of our annual or quarterly meetings there as well.
